How To Install Windows 8 Easy Step By Step Guide
Step by Step process of what is discussed in the Video.
In this I am going to explain you how to install windows 8 from scratch.
It is always good excersice to backup your data on D drive before proceeding with installation.
1. Turn on your PC and place your Windows 8 DVD into your DVD drive.
2. If your first boot device is set to DVD Rom Drive. The installation process will begin automatically
3. However if you are set to boot from your Hard drive. By Selecting boot menu at the start up and go to your BIOS settings and change the first boot device to DVD Rom drive.
4. As the installation process begins you will see the new Windows Logo and rotating progress bar at the bottom.
5. And eventually you end up at the Windows Setup Screen.
6. In this setup screen you need to select the Language to install, Time and currency format, Keyboard or input method.
I select as English (United states) for Language and Time settings. And keyboard as US
Select appropraite and click Next.
7. In the next screen you will see 2 options.
1. Install Now
2. Repair your computer.
As we are doing clean fressh installation select as Install Now.
8. After clicking Next you will see setup is started.
9. In the next screen it will ask you for the product key. Enter the product key which came with your Windows 8. After entering the correct product key press Next.
10. In the next window you will get the licence terms. Check I accept the licence terms and click Next.
11. In the next window you will get the option to choose which type of installation you want.
Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings, and applications
Custom: Install Windows Only (Advanced)
I select Custom as we are doing the clean Install. Upgrade is for upgrading the existing Operating system.
12. In the next window Select the drive where you want to install the Windows.
You can select the Drive Options (advanced) for creating partitions.
After selecting Drive Options select New to Creat a new partition and allocate the size for that drive and click Apply that will create a new partition.
click Ok on the pop-up. And select the new drive which is created and select format to format the new drive.
13. Now select the drive where you want to Install Windows 8 and select Next.
14. Installation will start copying files to the Harddrive. And you can see the progress in window.
15. Basically it will takes time to copy the files to your system. Depending upon your system configuration it will take time between 15mins to 30 mins.
16. Once Windows has finished the copying of files it will automatically restart.
17. This time Windows 8 Reboots again rather than rebooting it from DVD it will reboot from Hard drive.
18. Finally it will boot up and it will ask for PC name : Choose your PC Name and click Next.
19. In the next screen you will see two options Use express settings and Customize. Select Express Settings.
20. In the next screen you will Sign in to you PC. In this you can sign in using Microsoft account if you have one. or you can sign in without Microsoft account. As I am not using Microsoft account. Select Sign In without a Microsoft account.
21. In the next screen you have two options. Microsoft account and Local Account.
Create a Local account by clicking local account.
In the next screen you can choose your UserName, Password and Password Hint. and click finish.
22. Windows 8 finalizes the setup and you will get Welcome screen. It will give the quick demonstration about how to use the features of Windows 8
23. Finally you get the message We're getting Your PC ready. This will take a few minutes.
24. And eventually you will see Un Familiar screen. This is Metro use interface. It basically replaces Windows Desktop and familiar Start Menu. You see no Icons they are replaced by the tiles. You can click any tile to launch application.
25. As the installation process is completed. We just need to make sure all the drivers are installed properly. If not we need to install the neccessary device drivers.
Now your Windows 8 is ready to Use.
